Characteristics of Indica:
Indica is a shorter plant, at full growth it stands between 2-6 feet tall. The growing time is 6-8 weeks. The Indica plant has wider leaves that are dark green in color. The buds that are produced from this plant are denser in weight and put off a more pungent smell. Indica cannabis originates from the dry climates of Central and Southern Asia: Afghanistan, Pakistan and India.
Effects of Indica:
The high CBD content of the Indica strain causes it to have a more sedative and relaxing effect. It spreads throughout the body helping to relax it. The effects can include body highs, deep relaxation, muscle relaxant, pain relief, reduces nausea, increases appetite, and increases dopamine. Indica smoked at night may also help with insomnia.

Sativa plants grow to be tall, at full growth they can be between 8-16ft tall. The growing time for this plant is 10-16 weeks. The sativa plants are thinner and long, with the leaves being spread apart, they are also light in color. This is the classic marijuana leaf that you see. The buds that this plant creates are airier and the smell is sweeter. Sativa is a species of the Cannabaceae family. It originates from countries such as Columbia, Nigeria, Mexico, Jamaica, Thailand and Indonesia.
Effects of Sativa:
Sativa tend to have high THC content and lower CBD. This creates more of a head high and less of a body high. It can make you feel uplifted & energetic. Sativa has been known to help with stress, anxiety, and depression. It can be motivating, uplifting, can increases alertness, and makes a user more energetic. It can also inspire creativity. This is all great for a daytime smoker.
